Jacqueline McLean, MSW, LICSW

Jacqueline McLean has years of experience working with individuals Jacqueline McLean, MSW, LICSWand families on a variety of life problems, including parenting and marriage conflict.  Many of the individuals she assisted had behavioral health and/or substance abuse issues that had already brought them before the court, often creating more family stresses than otherwise would have been the case.

A guardian ad litem and parent coordinator, she has provided services to parents and children who have been estranged for a variety of reasons including mental health and substance use disorders as well as family violence issues.

This brought Jacqueline a unique understanding that treating separated and divorced families is a niche practice.  With an extensive forensic background, Jacqueline was asked to facilitate the divorce education program for the probate court.

As a result she became interested in a practice dedicated to separated and divorced families.  Her goal was to help families who had decided to end their marriages to do so with the least emotional upset possible for themselves and their family members.  A guiding premise of this practice was to help families resolve as many differences as possible in an amicable manner in order to benefit both parties and their children.

With years of experience as a guardian ad litem and parent coordinator, Jacqueline has played a variety of roles with families going through probate court under duress.  The combination of these roles in effect gave her a unique lens that enabled her to see, and provide expertise and consultation about, all the needs of all of those involved.

Although divorce legal proceedings are a time-limited moment, the enduring nature of families persist despite where they reside.  Another guiding premise of Jacqueline’s work is to create an environment for a collaborative divorce to provide positive co-parenting relationship.

There are times when this goal cannot be achieved due to long-standing histories of choices made by the individual parties.  Therefore other services, including supervised visitation, reunification therapy and parent coordinating would be appropriate choices to be considered.

Jacqueline is well-qualified to provide services to individuals who are seeking a collaborative divorce as well as those who have been engaged in more high-conflict divorce.  Her consultations and assessments are tailored specifically for each family.

Working with other advisers and attorneys, Jacqueline has developed a highly collaborative model to achieve optimal results for all involved.
