NFL Speaks is a non-profit organization
providing pro bono anonymous unlimited
behavioral health services to retired
professional athletes, their families and their loved
ones. NFL Speaks serves any professional player who has been engaged as a contracted professional NFL athlete. NFL Speaks' pro bono services are available in person and over the phone. Some providers also have begun to offer HIPAA-compliant virtual navigation and counseling services. Our volunteer workforce never charges players for any of the services delivered. NFL Speaks' services include individual, marital and family counseling as well as treatment for traumatic brain injuries, post-traumatic stress, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, stress and life transitions. NFL Speaks' goal is to connect players to qualified behavioral health professionals, specialists, or, in some instances, supplement and augment their current psychological treatment. Our care coordinator/navigator assists with the match between the behavioral health specialist and the client to arrange a tailored and highly personalized referral. NFL Speaks verifies that all providers are licensed in their given states. The NFL Speaks' volunteer workforce includes social workers, marriage and family therapists, pastoral counselors, psychiatric nurses and substance abuse counselors. |
