NFL Speaks is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to highlight the specific health and behavioral health needs of men, particularly professionals athletes who tend not to consider behavioral health services.  

NFL Speaks aims to call attention to this group of men as an at-risk population and to create an awareness of this silent under-served population by organizing and developing a volunteer workforce of professionals to offer support to these men, who might not otherwise access treatment. 

By creating a successful navigation model to be used by vetted, seasoned behavioral  health professionals, NFL Speaks aims to start the conversation about this silent under-served population by highlighting this need and also directly aiming at engagement, not only with the men, but the women who are their significant partners, their wives and family and community members, particularly because most health care decisions and appointments are made by the females in the household. 

This effort to start the conversation is a collective effort to increase the engagement of men seeking both health and behavioral health services and to raise the awareness of this silent population.
